Presently, it is still not possible, due to the evolution of the pandemic, to confirm the in-person holding of the conference on 10, 11 and 12 October.

However, it is important to celebrate the 5th anniversary of the 1st conference, as on 10 and 11 October 2016, ESHTE hosted a meeting with the world’s leading experts on Travel, Tourism and Hospitality Law.

After several conferences and publications in English (The New Package Travel Directive in 2017, Sustainable Tourism Law in 2018 and its second edition in 2019 and Collective Commentary about the New Package Travel Directive in 2020) and one mainly in Spanish (Derecho del Turismo en las Américas in 2020), the time has come to celebrate Tourism Law in Portuguese-speaking countries, in the year the Community of Portuguese Language Countries (CPLP in Portuguese) celebrates its 25th anniversary.

So, even if it is not possible to hold the conference in person on 10 and 11 October, the conference on Tourism Law will take place online, as we did in 2020, in Portuguese-speaking countries, namely Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique, São Tomé and Príncipe and Timor-Leste.

Tourism Law in Portuguese-speaking countries is a certainty for 10 and 11 October, in person or online.

Finally, the launch of the books Competition Law in TourismThe Legal Impacts of COVID-19 in the Travel, Tourism and Hospitality IndustryWine Law and Tourism Law in Europe, scheduled for October will naturally depend on whether the conference is held in person or online, especially since it is a special moment in which the authors enjoy being present.

If the conference is not held in person in October, the alternative will be 23, 24 and 25 January 2022.
